NCIS: Of imps, urchins, and other kid-type critters

Good evening, fellow and fellowette fans of ‘NCIS’.

Well, that was easy.  Who knew Don Bellisario reads Maggie’s Farm?

Three weeks ago I posted a clip from a great episode from season two where an alternate investigative team showed up on the crime scene and mimicked the actions of our team to perfection.  Here’s what I said in the post:

We have to presume outright that this episode had to have been highly popular with the viewers, right?  Without even thinking about it, you’d figure they’d bring back the other team somewhere down the road, maybe halfway through the next season.  Right?

Nope.

They never even used the theme again, much less the same team.  A small mystery unto itself.

Well, last week’s episode certainly answered that.  Thanks, Don!

If any of you fans have any suggestions for future episodes, let Don and me know in the comments and we’ll get right to them.

Actually, given that there have been about 150 shows since that episode I noted, last week’s show was kind of a startling coincidence.  But just in case it wasn’t — thanks again, Don!

In case you missed it, here’s a quick scene as the gang starts catching on:

Tonight’s theme is kids.  Where do they come from?  Why are they here?  Do they have any lasting value?  These, and other penetrating, incisive questions will most likely not be answered in tonight’s post.

But how to interrogate them certainly is:

The poor little tykes never had a chance.

And here’s the ol’ get-’em-from-all-sides approach:

To get us in the mood for tonight’s main feature, here’s a small videolage from ‘Honor Code’, a story of a young boy whose father has been abducted.  He hangs out around the office for a few days until his dad is rescued and, during that time, everyone sees a little bit of Gibbs in the young tyke.

Gibbs, however, sees someone else.
