Doc’s Bag O’ Clips: Tech Info

Mac users, sorry, but blame the big dogs for not sharing their respective video formats.  Without help, Macs can’t play Microsoft’s WMV files and Windows can’t play Apple’s Quicktime files.  That’s why the multi-platform format FLV has taken over, and you’ll notice every other video on the site is in FLV format so both platforms can play them.

The problem is that FLV isn’t a high-quality format and it wouldn’t be worth it to degrade everything here just so the Mac crowd can easily see them.

If it starts playing and then stops at some point, you either don’t have real broadband, or don’t have the broadband you think you do.  The videos here are the real deal, not some junky YouTube crap, but should play just fine with an average cable or DSL connection.

If you’re on dial-up or wi-fi, simply pause the playing as soon as it starts and give it a moment to download.  No biggie.
