Doc’s Bag O’ Clips: Tough Guys

Leading up to the #1 Tough Guy, here's my list:

#8 Paul Hogan as "Ol' Lizard-skin" in Crocodile Dundee
#7 Sly Stallone as Rambo being a badass in Rambo 3
#6 Kurt Russell as tough-as-nails Wyatt Earp in Tombstone
#5 Arnie as a hardcore Russkie in Red Heat
#4 Bruce Willis as mean as they get in The Last Boy Scout
#3 Steven Seagal doin' what has to be done in The Glimmer Man
#2 Gene Hackman is merciless in The Quick and the Dead

Now, before we get to the #1 Tough Guy, it's important that we have our parameters straight.  We mean in any situation, at any time, in any place.

As far as the definition of the word "tough" goes, well, if you slaughter 300 people in cold blood with a machine gun, does that make you "tough"?  Or just handy with firearms and not exhibiting an overabundance of conscience?

Okay, if Arnie, Sly and Bruce come at you and you give them a sound whuppin', then I suppose that makes you tough, right?

Hah!

They're just more run-of-the-mill tough guys.  A dime a dozen.

You want to know my definition of tough?

Tough is when you can look Death straight in the eye and treat him like a regular dude.

Which is exactly what our #1 Tough Guy did.

Now that's tough!
